Levan Koguashvilli’s captivating drama Brighton 4th follows an ex-wrestler’s journey from Georgia to Brooklyn to try to save his son, who has fallen into gambling debts. In an interview, the director says he became very familiar with the milieu of the ex-USSR communities living in Brighton Beach during his time as an NYU student. He also discusses his lead Levan Tedaishvili, who is extremely famous in his native country as a former Olympic wrestling champion.
