Premiere of THE KINGDOM: EXODUS, exclusively available for viewing on KVIFF.TV

September 22, 2022, 14:32

THE NEW THIRD PART OF THE CULT SERIES THE KINGDOM, SUBTITLED “EXODUS,” WILL BE AVAILABLE STARTING 13 OCTOBER ONLY ON KVIFF.TV.

"I am the best director in the world,"

proclaimed Lars von Trier proclaimed at a press conference for his film Antichrist. Arrogant, egocentric, provocative... and tirelessly innovative, characterized by technical ingenuity. Denmark’s enfant terrible continues where he began in the 1990s and brings the cult series The Kingdom, known for its humor, sepia tones, and Greek chorus of dishwashers, to a conclusion with part three, titled “Exodus.”

Exodus in 4, 3, 2, 1

After more than twenty years, the gates of the Kingdom open again, and we are here to guide you down the corridors of the Danish hospital one episode at a time. Following showings of restored episodes of the first two parts, the third part in the series premieres on 13 October. This is the only place you’ll see this cult classic. Halfmar can hardly wait...

And you can get ready thanks to our exclusive Kingdom marathon here: THE KINGDOM

King von Trier

Besides The Kingdom, starting 10 December you can also look forward to a retrospective of most of Lars von Trier’s work on VKIFF.TV that we are calling: King von Trier. And even before this date, you can catch the retrospective at various cinemas throughout the Czech Republic.

Starting on 11 November, Prague’s Kino Aero will present a retrospective of nearly all of von Trier’s films. From then until 9 December, audiences can come to see nine of his feature-length films: The Idiots, a dark comedy about a group of intellectuals with a strange hobby (pretending to be handicapped), the heart-rending musical Dancer in the Dark with singer Björk shining in the main role, von Trier’s English-language debut Breaking the Waves, the social drama set in 1930s America Manderlay, his provocative reflections on womanhood Antichrist, the gentle meditation on the end of the world Melancholia, both parts of his story about one unusual woman Nymphomaniac, and the self-conscious psychothriller about a mass murderer The House That Jack Built..

But KVIFF.TV has much more to offer than just the films of Lars von Trier. Here are some more viewing tips.

Everything, Everywhere, All at Once – the ultimate audience hit

In this wild ride by the Daniels directorial duo, a woman at an unpleasant meeting at the tax office is thrown into a frenzied adventure across multiple parallel universes. It’s just as crazy and entertaining as it sounds. A bombastic, opulent, and action-packed ride in which perfectly choreographed martial arts scenes are interspersed with existential questions.

Men: an unusual and mysterious experience

For Harper, a relaxing getaway in the picturesque English countryside turns into a nightmare: Soothing calm is the last thing that the surrounding forests and the crazy villagers have to offer lonely visitors. Men, one of this year’s most anticipated and most successful horror films – now available in KVIFF.TV’s expanded video library.
