The streaming platform KVIFF.TV was not to be overlooked by film fans in the past year. It was the only one to bring the latest work of director legend Lars von Trier to the Czech Republic - the third series of The Kingdom, subtitled Exodus. Thanks to the connection with the Karlovy Vary festival, it presented the best films from the past years of the festival. Now comes KVIFF.TV with another exclusive. It is the only online TV channel to bring the critically praised and festival award-winning hit film - Triangle of Sadness - into the homes of audiences.
"Triangle of Sadness has been available to watch on KVIFF.TV since Wednesday, December 21. It won the Best Film award at Cannes and four other major awards at the "European Oscars. I am convinced that many more viewers will enjoy this most entertaining film of the year during the Christmas holidays right here on KVIFF.TV," says the head of KVIFF.TV Ivo Andrle. The film platform Aerovod, which Andrle headed in previous years, merged with KVIFF.TV in November.
"The basis of KVIFF.TV is carefully selected quality films from all over the world, some of which were screened at the Karlovy Vary festival, from where we selected the strongest titles of the past years," adds Karel Och, KVIFF.TV's content director. "We are continuously adding several new titles a week to our offer. Each of them can be watched after a one-off payment, but it is also possible to become a subscriber, gaining automatic access to the vast majority of films, as well as a significant discount on premium titles outside the subscription library."
Cult classic films and new releases
The most successful titles on KVIFF.TV are both new releases and cult classics. Films such as The Shining, about a gifted pianist starring Geoffrey Rush, or the Cannes Award-winning South Korean romantic thriller Suspect, have become audience hits on KVIFF.TV. However, the most attention of KVIFF.TV viewers this year has focused on Lars von Trier. And not just his third series, The Kingdom, but also Trier's almost complete film retrospective, which is also available to watch on the platform. Now the online premiere of Triangle of Sadness awaits KVIFF.TV viewers, with films such as Buko and Home Alone to follow before the end of the year.
