KVIFF.TV, the streaming platform of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, is expanding its services to reach hundreds of thousands of households. At 2pm on 26 June, it will launch linear broadcasts via the KVIFF.TV Channel, a new film channel that will be available exclusively on Vodafone TV, where it will be included in the basic Vodafone TV+ online package (IPTV) and, soon after, via cable. Viewers will find the KVIFF.TV Channel on channel 20.
The programming will consist of domestic and foreign films and documentaries spanning a wide range of genres, plus interviews, reporting, and shows – primarily from the festival in Karlovy Vary. Right from the outset, viewers can look forward to Ruben Östlund’s comedy Triangle of Sadness, the biopic of football legend Diego Maradona, and the quadruple Oscar-winning comic thriller Parasite.
“Our streaming service – which offers premium films as well as an extensive curated library from which viewers can choose what to watch and when to watch it – will remain central to KVIFF.TV. The KVIFF.TV Channel nevertheless represents a significant step towards the KVIFF brand expanding its services year-round. We are happy to announce that, in collaboration with one of the festival’s loyal partners, we are launching a TV movie channel that, like KVIFF.TV’s online movie service, will fundamentally and in an original manner expand the range of quality film content while raising the quality of television programming,” says Kryštof Mucha, member of the board of KVIFF.TV.
“We at Vodafone are excited to be expanding our partnership with KVIFF onto a new and very meaningful level. In this way, we can offer our customers something that they won’t find anywhere else while also helping to bring quality content to the general public,” says Barbora Kožíšková, director of communications at Vodafone. Vodafone has been the Karlovy Vary IFF’s main partner since 2005.
In addition to the new channel, the KVIFF.TV streaming service will continue to operate as well. Here, viewers can purchase a subscription for 160 crowns a month or 1,700 crowns a year and then choose from more than 800 films or nearly 2,000 original videos to watch any time they want.
First-hand brews throughout the year.
