The Future Frames programme celebrated its tenth anniversary. William Sehested Høeg received a scholarship for a study stay in Los Angeles

July 03, 2024, 20:55

This year’s Future Frames programme for young directors at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival has announced the recipient of a scholarship for a month-long study stay in Hollywood, provided by Allwyn. Same as last year, this year’s award went to the representative of Denmark, William Sehested Høeg, who won the jury with his film The Complaint (Sammen er du mere), a tragicomedy from a corporate environment where interpersonal relationships and friendship compete with ambition, and where promotion is the ultimate goal of human existence.

The Future Frames programme, organized in cooperation with European Film Promotion, has been helping young European directors kick-start their careers in the film industry since 2015. Every year, ten up-and-coming directors are invited to the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival to present their films, receive the necessary mentoring and tailored training, and establish relationships with key figures in the film industry. On top of that, one of the ten finalists is then awarded a one-month study stay in Los Angeles, sponsored by Allwyn together with the UTA talent agency and Range Media Partners.
