About the director

Mark Ther

Mark Ther (b. 1977) creates objects and installations, and has been working primarily with video in recent years. The theme of his works are conceived in such a way that they defy a simple interpretation. His videos might appear as pseudo-advertising spots or pseudo-realistic, almost comic stories. Ther states: “My favourites include Garfield, Der Grüne Punkt, Andy Warhol and Maria Callas, and I’m also interested in flies, Japan, used chewing gum and pet hairs.” Ther’s work was presented at the Rotterdam IFF in 2007.
