Synopsis

42-year-old Nadine is an ambitious, independent and successful modern woman who used to change her lovers frequently. But now she lives alone and is childless. Her biological clock has been ticking away for several years, ultimately provoking her to take an impulsive step: after meeting a former boyfriend in the supermarket, she kidnaps his seven-month-old child and drives away from the scene of the crime. As she makes for southern Europe, she reflects on the important moments of her life over the last twelve years. Intoxicated with happiness yet suffering pangs of conscience, the woman soon faces the most difficult decision of her life… This, the second feature film by Erik de Bruyn considers the generation of self-sufficient women who put their careers before their families. In order to ensure a more universal perspective on his psychological drama, the director cast three actresses in the title role who play the heroine in various stages of her life.
