Chloe Chloe

Synopsis

Catherine Stewart is a gynecologist, and from the outside she and her husband David seem like a successful couple whose talented son only enhances their perfection. But one day she is gripped by the suspicion that David is being unfaithful. Catherine decides to test her husband’s fidelity by putting temptation in his path. But she has no idea that Chloe, the beautiful, intelligent, and alluring prostitute she hires, will change her life as well. A fateful interplay of unforeseen circumstances soon threatens the entire family.... In this star-cast intimate thriller about infidelity and trust, director Atom Egoyan explores various aspects of interpersonal relationships à la his legendary Exotica. Like the award-winning 1994 film, Egoyan’s new protagonists, who appear socially and emotionally stable, find themselves in the sway of sexual attraction and financial mechanisms. At the same time, the reasons for Chloe’s behavior as the "woman in the middle” remain well-hidden to the viewer and to those around her.
