This wittily assembled movie, with music by the likes of Devendra Banhart and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, presents a coed soccer team of seven-year-old enthusiasts whose members, despite constant losses and an inability to shoot a goal, never lose the joy of the game.

Synopsis

The players of the Margatánia coed team well know that they will lose their upcoming game in the soccer prep league. It’s all about how many goals they make and whether, by some lucky miracle, they will happen to shoot even one. In this wittily constructed movie, with music by the likes of Devendra Banhart, Patience and Prudence, and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, the Spanish creative duo presents a soccer team of seven-year-old enthusiasts who, despite constant losses and an inability to shoot a goal, never lose the joy of the game.

About the director

Roger Gómez, Dani Resines

Roger Gómez (b. 1974, Vilanova i la Geltrú, Spain) and Dani Resines (b. 1976, Barcelona) founded the production company El Cangrejo in 2009 with producer Christina Sánchez. In addition to their own projects shot before the founding of El Cangrejo, they have directed the TV series "El poble del costat” (2010) and "Dotze bodes i un funeral” (2010). They are also behind the documentaries Regreso a la Española (2009) and The Last Ones (2011), and they created the online series "El Entrenador” (2011).
