After a wild night celebrating his birthday, he wakes up in possession of a one way ticket to Lisbon – and decides to accept the challenge and head out into the unknown.… In his humorous indie film, debut director Gábor Reisz stands somewhat aloof as he explores the protagonist’s search for himself and his place in life.

For Some Inexplicable Reason For Some Inexplicable Reason

Synopsis

Áron is pushing 30. He recently finished university and is looking for a job, but he doesn’t really know what to do with himself. For now his parents are supporting him financially, allowing them to indulge in their tendency to meddle in his life. So to be on the safe side, Áron decides not to tell them that girlfriend Eszter has broken up with him. On the night of his 30th birthday party, he discovers that Eszter has found a new guy; devastated, he determines to thoroughly drown his sorrows. He wakes up in possession of a one way ticket to Lisbon – and decides to accept the challenge and head out into the unknown.… Following up his domestically celebrated short films, director Gábor Reisz turns in a humorous indie feature debut that explores, with objectivity and a flair for constructing bizarre situations, the protagonist’s search for himself and his place in life.
