Synopsis

Following a car accident, the body of a boy lies dead on a rain-drenched country road. When George runs over the body, he believes himself to be responsible for the boy’s death. He tries to flee accompanied by his mentally disabled brother, but is caught by the police...

About the director


Karl Bretschneider (b.1980, Vienna) began drawing comics at the age of nine and made his first shorts when he was 11 years old. In 1999 he was accepted to Vienna’s Film Academy, majoring in editing. Three years later he also enrolled in the directing program. Gray Zone was his graduation film.
