Metropolitan Fast Train

East of the West - Competition 2004 / Stoličnyj skoryj / Russia 2003

A young seamstress named Katya has thought up a pastime: she and a friend like to lift up their skirts as the express passes by. Once, a bottle is thrown from the train containing a message from a certain Misha. The next time the train stops and an older man gets off. Scared, the girls scarper. Katya looks elsewhere for love…

Synopsis

Young Katya is an inveterate daydreamer, and her dreams generally swirl with love. This is nothing to wonder at because she sits in a factory all day sewing at a machine. She has the pick of the local boys who like to grab a guitar and meet in an abandoned train car. She and a girlfriend compensate for their lack of sexual experience by showing off: they hitch up their skirts as the train passes by. Once a bottle is thrown from the train containing a promising love letter from a certain Misha. The girls repeat their exhibitionism. One day the train stops and a somewhat older conductor gets off. The terrified girls scarper and Katya decides on other means to satisfy her love longings.
