Egg Lady

Documentary Films in Competition 2001 / Olu Kundze / Latvia, Sweden 2000

Egg Lady Egg Lady

Synopsis

Aina cracks 20,000 eggs every day with her bare hands and then uses them to make dough for the best-loved pastries. At one time Aina enjoyed herself: she dropped out of university to be with her sweetheart, loved to dance and in the end found a good man. Today, she loans her neighbors money until their next payday. She lives alone. Over eggs, she thinks about the past, about lost opportunities, future hopes and the current state of her own happiness.
