Into the Wind

Horizons 2001 / Controvento / Italy 2000

Into the Wind Into the Wind Into the Wind Into the Wind Into the Wind

Synopsis

Clara is a psychiatrist at a mental institution in Turin and both her life and work have a completely rational basis. She has created a world for herself, devoid of emotion, from which she draws the strength to face the daily reality of the office. She is the exact opposite of her younger sister Nina, emotionally unbalanced and a nervous wreck, who is always running away from something and has no idea what to do with her life. But one day Clara meets a man who claims to have lived with Nina. His name is Leonardo and he works as an orderly in emergency. Clara gradually discovers that she is becoming attracted to her sister’s lover. This woman, who never thought much about love, experiences the torments of jealousy and the splendours of passion. It is an exciting and, at the same time, painful journey toward uncovering a previously unrecognised part of her own soul, a place only recently so dark and distant.
