Synopsis

A loose treatment of the tale by Jan Weiss. A solitary man experiences his secret dream which takes him back to his painful past. This moment, the loss of his dear, beloved wife, and his self-accusation, persecutes him every day. The man, whose story unfolds on three time planes, shuts out the world around him and lives his dream.

About the director

Miloš J. Kohout

Miloš J. Kohout (1955, Prague) shared in the set design of a whole series of films – for example, All Quiet on the Western Front (Na západní frontě klid, 1979), The Last Butterfly (Poslední motýl, dir. Karel Kachyňa, 1990), War of Colours (Válka barev, dir. Filip Renč,1995), he collaborated on Jan Svěrák’s films Accumulator I (Akumulátor I., 1994) and the Oscar-winning Kolya (Kolja, 1996) and, as a special-effects director, on Dark Blue World (Tmavomodrý svět, 2001). For his direction of advertising spots he was awarded at the London International Awards in 1997, at the Advertising Festival of the New Europe in 1998, and in 1999 he won the prestigious Gold Europe Creative Award Commercial at the international competition PROMAX. He created two animated projects which brought to life the architectural ideas of Frederico Diaz. He is currently working on a script for a feature film.
