Friday Night

Forum of Independents 2002 / Freitagnacht / Germany 2002

Six stories which take place on Friday night, shot by six students from the Cologne film school.

Friday Night

Synopsis

Friday evening is the start of the long awaited weekend. Expectations are high, but not every wish comes true. The road from the provinces to a hip-hop concert becomes an odyssey for Frank and David. Mark is supposed to spend the weekend with his 8-year-old son, but he finds it difficult getting through to him. Mike witnesses his granny accidentally swallowing ecstasy-pills, which changes his entire evening. Benno couldn’t have chosen a worse moment to meet his lover. Terror is hoping to come across the beautiful women he met once before, but meets a blind drunk woman instead. Nina goes to a party by taxi, and it looks like she and taxi-driver Kamran have a lot in common… Six students from the Cologne film school were given the task of each filming a story which takes place on Friday night; they had two nights to make their own version on Mini DV and this film is the result.
