The End

Czech Films 2016–2017 2017 / 3. poločas / Czech Republic 2016

Thirty-year-old Mára does as much for his family as he possibly can. During the day he labours in a factory, and then afterwards goes off to continue working on the family home. However, the lives of Mára and his family are continually invaded by his irresponsible brother-in-law, Pája, a football hooligan. But then Mára begins to develop a perilous liking for the latter’s wild, carefree world…

The End The End

Synopsis

Mára, 30, finishes work and then tackles other jobs that need his attention. He works at a factory during the day and afterwards goes off to build a house for the family. He gets help from his partner Léňa, with whom he has two kids. Their lives, however, are continually invaded by Léňa’s irresponsible brother Pája, one of the local football hooligans. Mára is always getting Pája out of trouble, but then his brother-in-law’s wild, carefree world starts to grow on him. In Jiří Volek’s drama the hooligans’ weekend-long bender will determine the outcome of the unexpected new developments in Mára’s life…
