In a picture awarded the Special Jury Prize at Sundance, scripter and lead actor Valeria Bertuccelli turns in a masterful performance in a powerful acting creation – a woman well-acquainted with her anxieties who has nevertheless decided to live and create. Robertina is readying a theater production, a one-woman show she wrote and stars in. They’re just touching up her smile on the posters, but is Robertina in a happy place in her life? No: her husband left her and her best friend is dying of cancer overseas. Uncertainty provokes in her an innate reaction: fierce, unrelenting fear. Robertina must once again prove that she can use it as a creative force.
