Late Night

Special Events 2019 / Late Night / USA 2019

After a glittering career of twenty-five years, charismatic but jaded queen of late-night talk shows Katherine Newbury (Emma Thompson) discovers her viewing figures are rapidly spiralling. But then spontaneous Molly turns up looking for a job. Might she be the desirable female element lacking in Katherine’s team of egocentric alpha males and frustrated oddballs? Distantly related to The Devil Wears Prada, this enchanting comedy wowed audiences at this year’s Sundance.

Late Night Late Night

Synopsis

After a glittering 25-year career, charismatic but jaded queen of late-night talk shows Katherine Newbury (Emma Thompson) discovers her viewing figures are rapidly spiralling. The cushy manspace inhabited by her team of egocentric alpha males and frustrated oddballs clearly needs a female presence. Then, just at the right moment, cheeky Molly turns up, a beguiling young woman who makes up for her complete lack of professional experience by displaying irresistible enthusiasm and an encyclopaedic knowledge of Katherine’s work. Distantly related to The Devil Wears Prada, this enchanting comedy wowed audiences at this year’s Sundance.
