Synopsis
Relentlessly pumping traffic through Los Angeles like blood circulating the body, the city’s highway system has become an integral symbol of the pulsating metropolis. This unique cinematic portrait takes us to one of the major freeways, Route 110, which cuts through the city from the San Gabriel Mountains, past the skyscrapers in the heart of LA, past the deprived areas and the epicentres of 1990s unrest, right down to the Pacific Ocean. Using time-lapse photography, the filmmakers capture the relentless bustle of the city and its inhabitants while presenting a beguiling commentary on the environs and the communities whose lives are defined by the urbanistic concept and infrastructure of the town.
