Synopsis

October 1989. Violinist Marie and her politically engaged husband set out from London for Prague. Twelve years of exile have in no way lessened their yearning for a free Czechoslovakia, and now the signs of a gradual thaw motivate them to return to their homeland. But was their decision to dive into the pre-revolutionary chaos perhaps a bit hasty? The communists are still in power, and the couple’s dissident past could lead to unpleasant consequences… Three years after the award-winning Wasteland, HBO Europe presents another excellent example of quality TV, once again under the confident directorial hand of Ivan Zachariáš. The first two parts of this spy miniseries are being presented at KVIFF as an exclusive pre-premiere.
