Synopsis

The magical yet unpredictable landscape of northern Mexico has buried many dreams of a better life. Magdalena, too, fears the worst when her son suddenly disappears trying to get to the United States. She thus sets off on a pilgrimage, travelling hundreds of kilometres to the border, despite all the dangers that lie ahead. Except that it’s well-nigh impossible to leave a territory governed by autocratic cartels… This enigmatic thriller about a country in the throes of violence won the Audience Award at the prestigious Sundance festival.
