Synopsis

The career prospects of Sylwia, a fitness motivator, couldn’t be more promising. Her tour is going brilliantly, copies of her workout DVD are filling the shelves, famous brands are knocking at the door, and the number of Instagram followers keeps on growing. Yet it takes just three days for the young influencer to realise that social media bring not only fame but also a distressing lack of privacy. For his cinematic probe into the issues underlying social media presence and its impact on the lives of individuals, Magnus von Horn opted for a realistic style while also attuning the film’s rhythm to the emotional experience of his heroine. The result is a resolutely confrontational portrait of the loss of intimacy and the chance for spontaneous expression, both at risk the moment the body becomes a brand and a commodity.
