A Little Love Package

Horizons 2022 / A Little Love Package / Austria, Argentina 2022

A way of seeing which endows its objects with nobility and connects the far and near, the open and the closed. Angeliki Papoulia, a wealthy yet perpetually dissatisfied woman, is looking for an apartment in Vienna at a time when the smoking ban in public places impacts the city’s coffeehouse culture. After its premiere at the Berlinale the film won Best Director at the BAFICI festival in Buenos Aires.

A Little Love Package A Little Love Package

Synopsis

A triangular shadow flying high above a landscape divided into the territories of documentary and fiction. A perpetually dissatisfied woman is looking for an apartment in Vienna at a time when the smoking ban impacts the city’s coffeehouse culture. The filmmaker’s creative return to Vienna explores a poetic way of seeing which endows its objects with nobility and lightly connects the far and near, the open and the closed. A pack of cigarettes, a box, a parcel, a window display, an apartment, a city, a family history. Rising smoke, Angeliki Papoulia and Carmen Chaplin, the patina of coffee-house interiors, plains, deserts, pastures – all radiate something exceptional. Can a 100 euro note emanate this as well? After its premiere at the Berlinale the film won Best Director at the BAFICI festival in Buenos Aires.
