The Tomb of Kafka

The Wish To Be a Red Indian: Kafka and Cinema 2024 / Le Tombeau de Kafka / France 2022

The Tomb of Kafka The Tomb of Kafka

Synopsis

“You do not need to leave your room. Remain sitting at your table and listen. Do not even listen, simply wait. Do not even wait, be quite still and solitary. The world will freely offer itself to you to be unmasked, it has no choice, it will roll in ecstasy at your feet.” Without realising it, Jean-Claude Rousseau carries out the existential instructions, which Kafka delivered as aphorism no. 109 sometime between September 1917 and April 1918, when he was staying on a farm with his sister Ottla and her husband in Siřem (Zürau) in North-West Bohemia.
