Mexican ballet dancer Fernando dreams of moving to the United States and making it on the international scene. Convinced that his lover, the successful American philanthropist Jennifer, will support him, he risks his life to cross the border. When he suddenly appears at her door, he disrupts her carefully guarded world, in which there is little room for Fernando’s dream future. Michel Franco’s provocative, meticulously directed love story full of passion and destructive energy shows the wall that exists between people – Mexicans and Americans, immigrants and those with privilege, men and women – who need each other but cannot find a common language.
