Synopsis

Introverted Princess Saira, daughter of the Queens of planet Clitopolis, is ditched by her charismatic bounty hunter girlfriend Kiki. When she discovers her ex has been kidnapped by the Straight White Maliens, who demand as a ransom the most powerful weapon known to lesbiankind – the Royal Labrys – Saira sets out on an inter-gay-lactic mission to rescue Kiki from the clutches of the evil incels. Along the way she encounters songstress Willow and a questionably macho spaceship, travelling on a journey that becomes a quest of self-discovery. With catchy melodies and pleasing irony, this animated sci-fi comedy by filmmakers Leela Varghese and Emma Hough Hobbs, which won this year’s Teddy Award at Berlin, takes us on a candy-coloured odyssey as it explores the vast reaches of the queer universe.
