Horizons / The Baltimorons / USA 2025
Christmas Eve, a broken tooth, and just one dentist on call – thus begins the strange odyssey of the newly sober Cliff and the lonely Didi through the streets of Baltimore. Jay Duplass has shown his sense for distinctive characters and unpredictable situations on numerous occasions as a director, screenwriter, and actor. Directed with a light and empathetic touch, The Baltimorons sketches out a melancholically humorous duet between two people who don’t even realize that they deserve to be main characters. But with each stop on their path towards understanding themselves and each other, it becomes clear that we all are the makers of our own fortune, and that, if we don’t change anything, nothing will change.
