Future Frames: Generation NEXT of European Cinema / 1:10 / Switzerland 2024
An ordinary sports day at a primary school. One seemingly trivial conflict between two young football players sets in motion a chain of events that culminates in a violent clash between adults. Swiss director Sinan Taner’s 1:10 looks at the crowd and individuals from inventive angles: at one moment, the people are little more than chaotically moving particles, but in the very next they become individuals with their own specific stories. Taner brilliantly captures the psychology of the crowd and the uncertainty of children who are still learning to navigate the world and to understand problems that far transcend them.
