Afterhours / Dangerous Animals / Australia 2025
A person should be a friend and not food. But the psychopath Tucker thinks differently. The shark-obsessed young man lures women onto his boat in order to subsequently toss them overboard to the oceanic predators. But the rebellious Zephyr refuses to give up without a fight. She also hopes that the good-looking Moses whom she met on the shore will manage to save her. While the sharks’ jaws bite, the audience’s jaws will drop. Sean Byrne surfs on the waves of films such as The Silence of the Lambs and Saw, and yet his movie is an original, fine-tuned machine full of action, suspense, and great gags. It also fixes the reputation sharks have had ever since Spielberg, rightfully realizing that sadism is a characteristic not of animals but of man.
