Synopsis

The director’s passion for using film to think about other films brings him into the home of Kim Novak, where this remarkable actress remembers – decades after the fact – her introduction to the chaotic world of Hollywood productions… and her subsequent departure in the interest of preserving her own integrity. The recollections of this movie icon go far beyond mere behind-the-scenes details. Organically interwoven with archival footage, the exclusive interview avoids tabloid superficiality, culminating in Novak’s reflections on Vertigo and her connection to it, while also touching on more universal human themes such as the desire for creative freedom and for recognition from those closest to us.
