Synopsis

A mountain hut in the northern Alps and the three women who tend to it at different times. Nature blossoms, bears fruit, and is again covered in snow; tourists come and go, and Anne, Hélène, and Suzanne listen to stories, observe the changes, and face utter solitude… Director Manon Coubia’s Belgian-French debut reflects her own experience from living in such a place, closely observing the life of nature high in the mountains while simultaneously retelling a fragment of a fictional story. Shot in natural lighting on classical celluloid, the film brings out the poetry of fleeting existence and lets viewers experience the meditative calm and breathtaking scenery of Europe’s high mountains.
