Synopsis

Olga lives the quiet life of a retiree, earning extra income by renting out one of her rooms. It would seem that she has everything perfectly organized and under control, and only a few minor details could possibly upset her happy routine. But then nine-year-old Cristian enters her life. This sensitive, humanist, and bittersweet film shows that the shell in which we wrap ourselves in order to avoid the outside world merely hides our own fragility. Flies was shown in the main competition at this year’s Berlinale.
