Horizons / Che dio perdona a tutti / Italy 2026
Pierfrancesco Diliberto, known as Pif, established himself as a director of Italian film comedies with his debut The Mafia Kills Only in Summer, which he introduced to Karlovy Vary audiences in person twelve years ago. Pif has his own unique tone, in which tenderness encounters refreshing (self-)irony and the intimate blends with the political and social – and all this portrayed in a liberating, direct manner. The emotions of Pif’s Arturo, a successful real estate agent with a non-existent love life, resonate in his absorbing passion for Sicilian dolci. Will his encounter with the enchanting Flora change his outlook on life? Pastries, desserts and a curious take on the Catholic faith in a romantic comedy which is also a homage to the filmmaker’s beloved Palermo.
