Afterhours / Gun-che / South Korea 2026
While the participants of a biotech conference are meeting in a high-rise building, Seo Young-cheol, one of the scientists, has different plans. He has created a pathogen that he believes will help to build a better human society, and he has decided not to put off for tomorrow what can be done today. But the pathogen causes people to mutate into bloodthirsty zombies that go on to quickly infect others. Naturally, this development interrupts the normal course of the conference and the entire building finds itself in lockdown. Director Yeon Sang-ho is hardly a newcomer to the zombie genre. Peninsula, the sequel to his famous Train to Busan, was shown at KVIFF in 2021.
