The start of the summer holidays is inextricably associated with the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, thanks to which to the Karlovy Vary Region is visited every year by prominent figures from the world of cinema, and also by film lovers and the general public – in short, all who do not want to miss out on the unique atmosphere of this cinematic and social celebration. This year’s sixtieth edition will be no exception and promises a wide range of experiences – not only at cinemas but also as part of the festival’s rich program of accompanying events.
The Karlovy Vary Region is a long-term partner of this prestigious festival, a fact that I consider a great honor and responsibility. We strive to make every visitor feel welcome here, whether they have come for the film program or want to explore the region’s beautiful sights beyond the main center of activities. The Karlovy Vary Region is perfect for combining both of these interests, and I personally recommend that all visitors venture beyond the main events to enjoy the beautiful outdoors, visit historical monuments, or engage in active leisure-time activities.
