Ewan McGregor and his daughter presented You Sing Loud, I Sing Louder

July 02, 2023, 12:24

International premiere of You Sing Loud, I Sing Louder was undoubtedly the highlight of Saturday night at the 57th KVIFF It was introduced by the audience’s beloved actor Ewan McGregor, who received the Festival President’s Award from Jiří Bartoška before the film started. As soon as Obi-Wan Kenobi appeared on the screen in a short video summary of his most famous roles, thunderous applause filled the Hotel Thermal’s Grand Hall.

In his introduction, the actor joked: “I was gonna do something in Czech but as I was practicing at home, somebody heard it and called for an ambulance – they thought I was having some kind of medical emergency.” But the Big Fish, Star Wars and Trainspotting star was quick to share the spotlight and invited his daughter Clara McGregor to join him on stage. “A highlight of what I have done so far in my career was to act with my daughter Clara. It’s like a dream,” McGregor confided. Ewan and Clara McGregor play a father and his daughter who are finding their way back to each other after years apart during a long drive through the Southwest desert. Clara McGregor is also the film’s producer and co-author of the screenplay.

The two actors introduced the film with support of various members of the delegation, including the director Emma Westenberg, producer Christine Vachon, director of photography Christopher Ripley and other filmmakers.
