The last day of the festival will offer a few last chances to catch standout films. An extra screening of the powerful Ukrainian war documentary 2000 Metres to Andriivka – currently leading the Audience Award vote – will take place at 9:00 p.m. in the Small Hall. The KVIFF will be closed by its famous midnight screenings – the cult horror classic The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Čas Cinema) and the delightfully absurd, gag-filled comedy Dangerous Animals (Small Hall). You can also end the festival in epic fashion with a rare screening of the 9-hour opus Shoah, starting at 2:15 p.m. at Čas Cinema.
KVIFF.TV Park will start its last day with the Actors with Actors programme, this time hosted by the duo Denisa Barešová and Zuzana Mauréry at 11:00 a.m. At 12:00 noon, Šimon Holý and Hana Trojánková Biriczová will welcome filmmaker Adina Šulcová in their pop culture show Poprask (Reflex magazine podcast). Afterwards, at 1:00 p.m. in Prostor KVIFF X, actor Jakub Žáček will sit down for an interview, followed at 2:00 p.m. by comedian Arnošt Frauenberg, performing live stand-up as part of KVIFF Comedy LIVE.
At 3:00 p.m. the winners of the non-statutory jury awards will be announced. The Closing Ceremony will be broadcast live from the Grand Hall at 8:05 p.m. on ČT1, with red carpet arrivals starting at 6:00 p.m. on KVIFF.TV. The evening’s highlight will be the presentation of the Crystal Globe for Outstanding Artistic Contribution to World Cinema to legendary actor Stellan Skarsgård.
