The main character in this feature tragicomedy is a beautiful, successful woman. She hasn’t got a partner, so her friends give her a live man for her 35th birthday. Synopsis

A beautiful and successful woman receives an unusual gift from her friends for her 35th birthday. The only thing she always wanted: a live man. The birthday girl doesn’t really know what to do with him, but he comes with a handy owner’s manual. But her coexistence with the “ideal husband” begins to irritate the woman accustomed to living on her own… The lead role is played by acclaimed Dutch actress Ariane Schluter.

About the director


Tamar van den Dop (b. 1970, Amsterdam) completed her studies at the Maastricht Academy of Dramatic Arts in 1993. She appeared in a series of stage plays, films and TV series: she won the Dutch Academy Award for the TV series Black Snow (Zwarte sneeuw, 1996). Her role in the drama Character (Karakter, 1997) made her one of the “Shooting Stars” at the Berlinale. She directed the short films Lot (2003) and Honey (2004) and the feature-length romantic drama Blind (2007).
