Seven Reeds, One Suit

Tribute to Michelangelo Antonioni 2012 / Sette canne, un vestito / Italy 1949

We follow a harvest of reeds, their transformation into cellulose, then into pasteboard, which is cut up and ground into pulp. What we’re witnessing is a "chemical storm which gives rise to a miracle,” converting the product into fibre as "soft and light as snow.” Seven reeds are enough to make one suit. This film will be screened in the Tribute to Michelangelo Antonioni I.
