The Villa of Monsters

Tribute to Michelangelo Antonioni 2012 / La villa dei mostri / Italy 1950

A film study of the grotesque sculptures which attract tourists to the grounds of the ancient Orsini’s Bomarzo Palace located in the Lazio region not far from Viterbo. The sculptures were crafted by Pier Francesco Orsini (1528-1588). The park was restored during the 1970s. This film will be screened in the Tribute to Michelangelo Antonioni I.
