Because of her Jewish origins, Heda Margoliová-Kovalyová nee Blochová suffered greatly under the two cruel dictatorships – Nazi and Communist – which shook Europe in the last century. She survived a concentration camp, and then the 1950s, when her husband, Rudolf Margolius, was executed. She emigrated after the Soviet invasion of 1968. 

Synopsis
