The Greasy Strangler

Midnight Screenings 2016 / The Greasy Strangler / USA 2016

When a father-and-son relationship gets stuck, just apply a liberal dose of grease. Literally. But what if your dad is a brutal murderer nicknamed the Greasy Strangler? And what if he also tries to interfere with your new girlfriend? And what if he has a gigantic penis? Remember, in an absurd comedy full of psychopaths, never skimp on the lube.

The Greasy Strangler The Greasy Strangler

Synopsis

If you want Big Ronnie to eat it don’t dare skimp on the grease. Ronnie loves the stuff with hot dogs and even on grapefruit because, as he says, “the grease will lubricate my throat.” His son Brayden is the one who generally fixes his meals; he’s a middle-aged virgin abandoned by his mother ostensibly for befouling her bed sheets. That’s no longer a problem and now he and his dad accompany interested parties to locations associated with the history of disco. On one of their walking tours, Brayden meets the rotund Janet and falls in love with her, but his father is less than thrilled – the same father who may also be the murderous Greasy Strangler! Screened at the Sundance festival, this absurd comedy is full of fake penises (both monstrous and miniature), gallons of fat, fried eyes, and pyrotechnic mudslinging. And remember – when a father-and-son relationship gets stuck, just apply a liberal dose of grease.
