See No Evil, Hear No Evil

People Next Door 2018 / See No Evil, Hear No Evil / USA 1989

Wally is rude, loud, and blind. Dave is cultured, quiet, and deaf. They couldn’t be more different, but they complement each other perfectly. A classic of the genre, this crime comedy brings to the screen two hardheaded guys who don’t take guff from anyone.

See No Evil, Hear No Evil

Synopsis

Wally is blind, Dave is deaf. Together they complement each other, forming an invincible team. Well, almost. After they get mixed up in a case involving homocide and a valuable lost coin, they must do the impossible and outfox not only an elegant gangster and his murderous moll but also the entire New York City Police Department. Fortunately, the pair have more luck than smarts, always managing to escape unscathed from every crazy scrape they stumble into. At the time of its release, this Richard Pryor-Gene Wilder crime farce represented the height of situation comedy, and it has aged well. Brace yourselves for an onslaught of politically incorrect humor and for an unexpected lecture on senior sex.
