A journey to the bowels of the Earth might guide us through our own entrails. In her hypnotic short film, Bolivian artist Luciana Decker Orozco finds inspiration in the work of Peruvian writer Gamaliel Churata, while her mesmeric, strangely tremulous piece exerts an appeal without the need for specific knowledge of the local context. Details of the face and hands of an old woman and the food she eats, and the exploration of caves seemingly shrouded in an aura of horror, play out against a ground plan of personal archaeologies, which connect familiar experiences with something that has transcended our everyday experience for centuries.
