Social outreach workers Amin and Mitchell from a poor part of town must contend not just with a zombie apocalypse and alien invasion, but also with unscrupulous developers and a girlfriend’s missing dog. This Dutch horror comedy is a perfect example of light “midnight” horror entertainment featuring unforced satire, here aimed primarily at the issue of gentrification. Director Michael Middelkoop has created a brisk addition to the trend of self-ironic, intelligent B-movie fun, managing to include local themes while still relying mainly on original, universally understood absurd ideas, spiced up with a touch of the disgusting and grotesque.
