Two married couples and a common dilemma – their relationships aren’t what they used to be, and each partner is perhaps yearning for something else. The idea of having open relationships shakes up their friendship and questions certainties that they had previously considered solid. Working with a light touch, director Michael Angelo Covino (who also plays one of the leads) has created a relationship comedy full of provocative chaos, lively characters, and fresh directorial ideas. Dakota Johnson, Adria Arjona, and Kyle Marvin complete Covin’s excellent foursome balancing on the threshold between desire and stability. And in-between swim aquarium fish strongly reminiscent of high church officials.
