Synopsis

27-year-old Jim (Casey Affleck) reluctantly returns home to his parents in a tedious small town in rural Indiana. He pretends he has come back to “find himself” but, in fact, he didn’t make it in New York and is simply broke. His sweet but overpowering mother, distant father and depressed older brother, Tim, don’t improve matters. At least he meets Anika (Liv Tyler), an attractive nurse living alone with her small son. After Tim suffers a bad car-crash injury, Jim has to take on his brother’s tasks: coaching a children’s basketball team and working in his parent’s factory, where his cousin Evil causes a series of unexpected events. A melancholic comedy from famous American actor Steve Buscemi.
