Petr Dvořák
Petr Dvořák is an experienced media executive with more than twenty years of practice in the television and media industry.
He currently works as an independent media consultant, serves as Chairman of the Board of the State Audiovisual Fund, and is also the Executive Director of the Vltava Philharmonic Foundation. In addition, he holds the position of Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Leica Gallery Prague.
From 2011 to 2023, he served as Director General of Czech Television, where he was responsible for managing six nationwide television channels. Under his leadership, Czech Television achieved a market share of more than 30% and record levels of public trust. He also significantly expanded international cooperation, particularly in the areas of drama production, sports broadcasting, and news coverage.
At the international level, he served from 2013 to 2019 as a member of the Executive Board (ExBo) and from 2020 to 2023 as Vice-President of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), where he was involved in the strategic governance of the organization and in the acquisition of sports broadcasting rights across 56 member countries.
From 2002 to 2010, he was CEO of TV Nova, where he implemented a successful multi-channel digital strategy and maintained a market share of around 45%. From 2008 to 2010, he also served as Vice-President of CME, the owner of TV Nova, overseeing all broadcasting operations in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, and Croatia.
