Karlovy Vary International Film Festival continues its long-standing collaboration with MIDPOINT Institute to present a strong lineup of emerging European talent. This year’s Works in Development – Feature Launch selection includes nine feature-length projects currently in development and looking for co-production partners. Developed within the MIDPOINT Feature Launch program, these projects represent some of the most promising voices in European cinema.
Alongside them, five additional projects developed within MIDPOINT – Focus Queer —a program supporting filmmakers exploring queer narratives—will be showcased, highlighting the importance of diversity and inclusion in contemporary storytelling.
For the second time at the Karlovy Vary IFF, the Eurimages Co-production Development Award of 20 000 EUR will be awarded to one of the projects presented at the KVIFF Eastern Promises.
The best project of the program receives the Works in Development Award of 10 000 EUR. More information about other networking awards the program offers can be found here.
A selected project from MIDPOINT Feature Launch will be granted the opportunity to pitch at Connecting Cottbus, the East-West co-production market during the FilmFestival Cottbus.
One producer will be selected to participate in the professional training program for producers, Rotterdam Lab, which takes place during IFFR/International Film Festival Rotterdam.
First-hand brews throughout the year.
